A Lot of exciting things are going on in the world of Breakin, so far this year has shown itself to be extremely progressive with multiple Break Dancing events going on throughout the United states and the world. Breakers are excited and motivated in their practices to gain the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Olympics. USA Breakin has proudly sponsored and participated in many events such as the Chispa TMC,  Providence, Rhode Island, ProAm Expo, and Battlewire Qualifier.  Upcoming events like Battle for NYC October 8, 2023 & Battle of the Alamo November 18, 2023 are just some of the incredible events you can attend.

               Breakin is catching on like wildfire. Its Versatility of toprock, downrock, power moves, pop”n”lock, and freezes is making each dancer’s style unique, and are being combined in limitless ways as this sport continues to grow throughout the years. Breakin typically takes place in hip-hop, funk, or breakbeat music, which has a universal appeal. The rhythmic aspect of breakdancing makes it engaging for both dancers and spectators which any sport benefits from.             
              In recent years, breakdancing has gained recognition from more formalized institutions. For example, it will be included in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, marking a significant milestone for the art form as a sport.

               Because of all these elements, breakdancing has been catching on like wildfire and shows no signs of slowing down. USA breakin is proud to be a part of this evolution, It has evolved from a local phenomenon of urban house parties to a worldwide movement, continuing to captivate people of all ages.

              We would like to recognize Breaking 2 Business A week dedicated to celebrating the dance, art, sport, history, culture, community – essentially the joy of all things Breaking during the week of October 1st through October 7th! Welcome to the latest edition of the USA Breakin Newsletter, bringing you the freshest news and opportunities in the World of Breakin. As we continue to champion the art of Breakin and prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games, we are excited to share the latest developments and updates with you all. 

Advisor Spotlight: Nelson “Trigga” Martinez 

In this edition, we shine the spotlight on our esteemed Advisor, Nelson “Trigga” Martinez. A retired US Air Force Veteran, DJ, MC and former Youth Track & Field Coach, Trigga brings a wealth of experience, discipline, and passion to the Breakin community. His dedication to service and excellence continues to inspire us all. 

Breakin (BBoying) in the Olympics 

With the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France on the horizon, Breakin is gearing up for its historic debut on the Olympic stage. This incredible achievement signifies a new era for Breakers around the world, and USA Breakin is dedicated to nurturing and supporting athletes who dream of representing the United States at the Olympics. 

Prior Events USA Breakin attended: 

University Area CDC – Prodigy Cultural Arts Program, 10th Anniversary Turn-Up Dance Battle, Tampa Florida on Saturday, August 12th, 11 am – 5 pm and we were there supporting our kids of tomorrow, ages 6-17 battle it out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Trophies. 

She’s Got It! The Dancing Queen 1V1 Women’s Freestyle Battle, Sunday, August 13th, 2 pm – 9 pm hosted by Desiree Jordan and her team along with Judges Rae Rae, Hirari and Artist/Author, Yoe Apolinario from Los Angeles and the Host, Yodov had up to 50 participants freestyle their best moves for a 1st Place $400 prize and a roundtrip plane ticket and hotel to San Diego for their finale later this Summer and we were there to support and witness these incredible women express themselves on the dance floor. Some were Bgirls now looking for the next opportunity to shine. 

Battlewire – USA Breakin Qualifier Sponsored by Chispa (STARTING August 12th) 

We are thrilled to announce that Battlewire, a Worldwide Online App for Breakers hosting and participating in battles and perfecting their skills is hosting a USA Breakin Qualifier which began on Saturday, August 12 with the Final Battle on September 8th.The excitement is building as Breakers 18 years and older from across the Nation showcase their incredible skills, vying for a chance to be named the Champion of this event. It’s a $300 cash prize to the Top U.S. Scorer and an all expenses paid trip to the USA Breakin National Championship Finale in Miami, Florida in December 2023.The dates and times will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned and keep supporting USA Breakin. It’s going down NOW! So download the app and wait no further! 

Round One: 8/12 – 8/25 – All Breakers – “Battle Royal 

All Breakers who enter will battle by pressing the “Battle” button on the Event Page. All Breakers must complete 5-6 Battles by 8/24th. 

Top 4 Breakers: On 8/25 in the Leaderboard will Advance. Plus, the Judge will select 4 Breakers totaling 8 Breakers. 

Round Two: 8/26 – 9/01 – Top 8 – “Battle Royal” – 8 Breakers will Battle by pressing the “Battle” button. They must ALL complete 4-5 Battles. 

Judges: Speedy, Honey and the Crowd. 

Getting Involved with USA Breakin 

Whether you’re a seasoned Breaker or new to the scene, USA Breakin welcomes you to join our dynamic community. Participate in local Breakin classes, workshops, and events to hone your skills and connect with fellow Breakers. Membership is always absolutely “FREE” for all ages with the latest and greatest on what’s yet to come in the Breakin community.

As we enter the exciting realm of Olympic sports, USA Breakin is here to support and empower bboys and bgirls across the nation. In this edition, we are delighted to introduce our Secretary, Nelson “Trigga” Martinez, a retired US Air Force Veteran and Track & Field Coach. Nelson brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the breakdancing community.

Meet Nelson “Trigga” Martinez

Nelson Martinez, also known as “Trigga,” has dedicated his life to serving others. As a retired US Air Force Veteran and a former Track & Field Coach for youths aged 5 to 18, Nelson understands the importance of discipline, determination, and passion. He is excited to share his expertise and contribute to the growth and development of the breakdancing community.

As many of you already know, break dancing is set to make its debut as an Olympic sport at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. This historic milestone opens up a world of opportunities for bboys and bgirls to showcase their skills on the global stage. USA Breakin is committed to preparing and supporting athletes who aspire to represent the United States at the Olympics.
